We work with each bride and groom individually to make their wedding cake personalized and special. All of our cakes are custom designed to reflect the personal and event style of the client. Email us details about your wedding plans and we'll create the perfect cake for your reception. Or if you prefer, we can meet in the comfort of your own home where we will discuss all the options and every idea you may have. We come to you so you do not risk your bouquets, dresses, or memorabilia being harmed in transport. Inspirations can come from the tiniest detail about your event, from floral decor, to bridal attire, to the invitation design or the season of the wedding. Remember, your cake, like your wedding is a reflection of who you are as a couple. Your family heritage, how you met, what you like to do together, even how the groom proposed could contribute to the design of your cake.

We recommend receiving a tasting to decide on your desired flavors. With or without a consultation we can drop off a variety of samples of your choice to help with your decision of flavors for your wedding cake. We also recommend booking your event as far in advance as possible to ensure the date of your wedding is available. Bookings are made on a first come, first pay basis. We are a boutique pastry shop and are limited in the number of events we can handle each weekend.

Prices start at $3.00/person for buttercream cakes and $4.00/person for rolled fondant. Prices range up to $15/person depending on detail work and design.

Our cakes are made to order and so we can cater to any flavor that you would like. Some popular flavor combinations are chocolate cake with peanut butter filling, vanilla cake with raspberry filling, and Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese meringue.

The cake designs are also customized for each couple’s taste. If you have a picture of a cake you’d like, we always welcome them! The cake shape is up to you as well - Round, square, or octagonal. Design elements include, but aren’t limited to : Sugar flowers, sugarpaste ribbons and bows, and replications of wildlife and nature (such as dogwood or japanese cherry trees).. Colors are up to you – anything from classic white, to hot pink!

You can browse the internet, bridal magazines, or cake books for ideas, email us pictures and we can replicate a cake or change it to suit your theme. Or we can craft something completely unique to you. If a traditional wedding cake isn’t your speed, we can do decorative cupcakes on tiered stands, or individual cakes. Prices vary based on design.

We deliver our wedding cakes within Athens County and many of the surrounding areas as well. Prices do vary based on the location of the event. If you prefer, we can arrange for the cake to be picked up as well.

Don't forget the base/stand for your cake. It is an often overlooked detail that can really set off your cake. You may rent a stand with a deposit or purchase one to supply us with.
Appointment times may be set for tastings, catalog viewing and sketch reviews of your custom cake.

There is a minimum $50 retainer’s fee required to reserve your date. (This is applied to the cost of your cake.) See Deposit information below.

Pricing

All cakes are priced per serving.
Serving prices start at $3.00.
Fondant covering adds $1.00 per serving (more depending on complexity and adornments.)
Sheet cake prices start at $1.75 per serving. (These are double layered sheet cakes with a filling.)
Wedding Cupcakes start at $1.75 each. (Extra adornments may add to price)
Cheesecakes start at $2.00 per serving (undecorated.)
Fondant decorations, hand piping, or other decorations may add to the cost.
Gumpaste flowers are priced based on the type of flower.

Cake Serving Information

Things to consider when choosing your cake sizes:

How many people you are serving?
How many tiers do you want your cake to be?
Are you saving the smallest tier for your first anniversary?
If you are expecting a large crowd, would you like to serve a sheet cake alongside the specialty cake? ***(A sheet cake can be kept in the kitchen and served along with the specialty cake to accommodate large numbers of guests. However, since it will be behind the scenes there is no need for time-consuming, elaborate decoration, thus making it more affordable.)***

The average wedding cake consists of 3 tiers: 6, 9, & 12 and feeds 150 people. It is the largest convenient size to cut and serve. ***As mentioned above, if extra is desired a sheet cake can be served for a lot less. This cake can be kept in the kitchen and served along with the wedding cake to accommodate large numbers of guests. However, since it will be behind the scenes there is no need for time-consuming, elaborate decoration, thus making it more affordable.

Often an invited guest will bring a companion, or an invited couple may bring their children. Order your cake size by the number of guests you expect and not the number of invitations you sent.

On average about 2/3 of all invited guests come. (Less, if most of your guests live out of town, and more, if the majority live locally.)

If you are having a groom's cake, you can divide the number of servings between the two cakes. The bridal cake is usually the larger of the two.

Extra Information:

A cake tier is 2 layers of cake iced together with a filling in the middle, making it 4.5" tall.
An average wedding cake is 3 or 4 tiers.
Wedding cake serving size is 1"x 2"x cake height (4.5").

Ordering Information

We take orders either by phone, email, or through our online form. We’d like as much lead-time as possible…but if you have a short notice order, ask us, and we’ll try to get it done for you! I personally work with each client and since all our cakes are made to order we usually require 2 to 4 weeks lead time. However, don't hesitate to contact us even if your request is not within the timeframe, as we often have last minute openings.

Delivery

We are happy to deliver our cakes and cookies as long as we are available. We generally deliver to the Athens, Albany, The Plains, Nelsonville, Lancaster and Southeast Ohio areas. Please contact us for delivery charges. We regret that we cannot SHIP cakes, petit fours or cupcakes.

Location

We own a by-appointment only specialty cake shop in Athens, OH.

Deposit

Any order that is above $200 requires a $50 deposit when ordering. Any order that is above $400 requires a 30% deposit.

Methods of Payment

We accept cash, and local checks.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A deposit is due at time of order placement. Balance is due in full at time of delivery or pickup. If an order is not picked up on the day of delivery or delivery is denied, the client is responsible for the remaining balance. Heavenly Confections will make every attempt to contact the client in the event of a missed pickup date or denied delivery.

In the event of cancellation:

All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
If a cancellation is received less than two weeks prior to the promised delivery date, only 25% of the aforementioned deposit will be refunded.
If a cancellation is received less than one week prior to the promised delivery date, the aforementioned deposit is forfeited.
